Whether it’s an indie filmmaker or a fully vested series, our focus is on building themes and continuity within the score. We’ve tackled a wide variety of genres and subjects, too. From reggaeton to middle eastern, classic westerns to wildlife. It’s an intimate process, but we love being in the trenches.

Project Background
A new docuseries from Words + Pictures highlighting the journeys of the biggest stars and teams in the National Women’s Soccer League. We crafted the original score for this 3-part episodic. A four month endeavor that called for 30+ cues per episode.
A lot of sports docs can feel formulaic. Music is often an afterthought with wall-to-wall stock music serving as the soundtrack. Our goal was to build a unique, sonic identity for the series. Early in the process, we decided on a cinematic-hybrid approach; using electronic elements paired with uptempo strings, pulsating bass and variety of percussion.
It felt like the right choice for the fast paced nature of the sport and the young, vibrant personalities of the players.
